Unique, New Fundraising Project
Dear Friends,

As part of our fundraising activities this year, we have chosen to do something unique and interesting and help to set a NEW WORLD RECORD in the process. Please take a few minutes to review this document, and then go to PowerfulPixel.com to see the details of their unique fundraising opportunity. We are excited because we have never seen anything like this before and there is up to $3.8 million available for schools and non-profits during the World Record Breaking project which is explained below.

This picture of the Discovery Space Shuttle was taken on December 9, 2006 as seen from the Atlantic Ocean's Jupiter Inlet in Jupiter, Florida. It was the first night launch of a space shuttle in over 4 years. Since then, it has placed in photo contests, is on record at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., and already hangs on the walls of a couple hundred homes all across the United States. Due to the extraordinary attention this picture has already received, PowerfulPixel, Inc. decided to take it to the next level and make this photo the largest photo in the world… and they do mean that literally.

PowerfulPixel, Inc. was created with one purpose in mind: To create the Largest Photo Mosaic in the World and set a NEW WORLD RECORD. The current world Record was set in Spain on October 31, 2006 and is 4,878 square feet. When this project has been completed, it will be 213,333 square feet and almost 5 full acres in size.

In order to do that, each and every pixel (small dot of color) in the original picture will be printed out as a 4-inch square of color. Each 4-inch square of color will then be affixed to 6,650 pieces of 4' x 8' plywood. Finally, each piece of plywood will be laid out on the ground like a giant puzzle to form the final picture which will be 400 feet wide and 533 feet long. It will be visible by satellites orbiting miles above the surface of the earth. Once the project has been certified as a New World Record, it will be dismantled and all the plywood will be used by various organizations to build homes for fellow Americans.

This project has so many aspects that it can't be fully explained here. Let's just say that it focuses on team work and people pulling together to reach a goal and also to help out other people along the way. As far as the fundraising part, it's actually quite simple; there are 1,920,000 pixels in the photo and each one is available for sponsorship. Our job is to get the word out! Send emails or hand out flyers to friends and family encouraging them to do the same. Then when people sponsor pixels because of our referrals, Loggerhead Marinelife Center Volunteer Program earns money.

Now why would people want to sponsor pixels? To start with, everyone that sponsors a pixel will receive a certificate of authenticity, be listed on the web site, and be known as a World Record Holder themselves once the project has been completed and certified. There are a lot of other things going on too; check out the [b]About Us
, About The Project, and FAQs pages and you'll see what we mean. Next, all you need to do is click on "log in" and create a free account. When you register, be sure to include the Loggerhead Marinelife Center's referral code so that they are able to track our activity. That's all we need to do. The more pixels sponsored because of our referrals, the more we earn for the VOLUNTEER PROGRAM! We thought it was time to try something new and we appreciate your support. Thank You.
